The prime objective of Irrigation
mapping is to provide for the management of available
information, especially for areas, which require constant
monitoring and evaluation, so as to register change
and rehabilitation. It is necessary to identify the
various indicators which allow data to be collected
in a repeatable and comparable manner, and which can
be used to monitor the outcomes of the rehabilitation
process, including changes in agricultural practices
and water use efficiency. These indicators cover a
range of data layers that include cadastral layers,
existing irrigation layers, saline drainage system,
catchment areas, topography, soil types to name a
few. Base maps, which include government irrigation
districts and associated divisions, landcover categories,
government reserves boundaries, historic flood-level
peak wetland types and their locations also form part
of the analysis. Such vast expanse of data layers
require specialized data capture techniques especially
with relation to analysis of existing data and creation
of user defined data.
RAMTeCH has the necessary qualified personnel who
can not only create base map data layers but extract
other data layers which are client specific and require
to be used for Irrigation Mapping. With engineers,
agriculturists, cartographers, photogrammetrist and
planning in our payrolls, we strive to provide our
clients with all types of data that are required for
irrigation. Some of the services are as follows:
